According to new research, a majority of drivers are breaking the law on motorway speeding.
The research was carried out on 4,000 UK motorists by onepoll on behalf of website yesinsurance and showed that nine in ten UK motorists exceed the 70mph speed limit.
And close to two thirds, 63 per cent, admitted that they had driven at over 100 miles per hour on motorways.
Female drivers are safer drivers than men, according to the report, as the same figures were 77 per cent and 36 per cent with women drivers.
This was still a large majority that had broken the 70mph speed limit and a significant proportion that had driven above 100 mph.
Still, the research also showed that about a third of men believe they are better drivers than women.
However, there are about 30 per cent more male drivers on the roads than female drivers yet they involved in twice as many accidents, the report said.
