Easter travellers 'should get set for snow'

Consumers heading away from home this bank holiday weekend should be conscious of weather reports suggesting a high likelihood of strong winds accompanied by rain, hail, sleet and snow.

The Met Office is warning those intending to travel to be conscious that the adverse weather conditions when planning their journeys.

It adds that the situation for drivers - who should ensure that their car insurance is up to date - is likely to be exacerbated by the fact that roads will be busier than normal.

The unseasonable weather makes advice from esure released over the winter become relevant to road users once again.

The firm states that motorists should look as far ahead as possible in order to anticipate any need to slowdown, while lower speeds in general are advisable when visibility is poor.
