Regional operator Eastern Airways has announced its first Newcastle to Norway flight schedule.
Leaving Newcastle airport at 9.50 BST and landing in Stravanger, Norway's fourth largest city, at 12.40 local time, the schedule will be the first non-stop service offered from the airport.
Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways' chief operating officer, said: "Our convenient service is the fastest weekday transport link between the two cities."
He added that the service was expected to be of interest not just to business travellers but holidaymakers as well.
Stravanger was nominated in the European Capital of Culture 2008 awards and is also regarded as Norway's energy capital.
Eastern Airways passengers travelling from Newcastle are also able to take advantage of a fast-track security channel that avoids queues.
For those using the company's service in Aberdeen, Eastern operates an exclusive passenger lounge that can be used by all customers, while the company asserts that its short check-in times allow travellers to spend less time in airports.
