Low cost airline easyjet will add seven new routes this autumn, including the addition of Bulgaria to its network, the company announced on Thursday.
The new Bulgaria service will run for three flights a week starting on November 6th, as the airline continues to expand in Central Eastern Europe.
Recently easyJet announced plans to enter the Romanian market and introduced new routes to Gdansk in Poland.
Bulgaria is particularly popular among British property investors, being in the top five in destinations for those looking to invest in real estate abroad.
The country acceded to the EU in January 2007, and has since seen its tourist appeal and economy booming.
EasyJet will fly to the capital Sofia, the second oldest city in Europe and instantly recognised from the golden domes of its Alexander Nevsky cathedral.
A new route from Liverpool to Innsbruck will be added and operate three times weekly, as easyJet also looks to increase its flights to skiing destinations this winter.
The company also announced flights to Lisbon from Liverpool four times a week.
