Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train linking the UK to the Continent, has begun to put on sale tickets for the first journeys from its new St Pancras International station.

The first trains will begin to depart from the new station from November 14th, using the UK's newly completed high-speed line, High Speed 1.

At the same time, Eurostar has put on sale the last tickets departing from what had been its UK home for 13 years, the station of Waterloo International.

Services from Waterloo will end on the previous day to those starting at St Pancras, on November 13th, allowing for a smooth overnight exchange.

Tickets for Ebbsfleet International, another new station just off junction 2 of the M25 near the Dartford Crossing in north Kent, were also put on sale.

Ebbsfleet International will open the day after St Pancras, offering trains to Paris and Brussels for residents of South London, and passengers of the city's busy airports.

The new stations will increase the number of trains services by Eurostar by a third, from 12 to 16 a day.

'We know that thousands of travellers want to be on the first trains on High Speed 1. We are expecting heavy demand from customers keen to enjoy even faster, shorter journeys to the Continent, and who want to see the stunning restoration of St Pancras International.

'I'm sure that many people will also want to travel on the final Eurostar services from Waterloo, joining us in saying 'goodbye' to our old London home,' said Richard Brown, chief executive of Eurostar.
