Women across the UK could reduce their risk of breast cancer by taking part in an hour of light exercise every day, one health expert has claimed.
Arlene Wilkie, director of research and policy at the Breast Cancer Campaign, said there are various factors which increase the risk of breast cancer and a lack of physical exercise is one such risk, something which could prompt women across the UK to improve their fitness and take out
life insurance as a precautionary measure.
She commented: "Frequent exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer, therefore any regular physical activity, including walking, running, housework or even sex, will help to improve your fitness and reduce your breast cancer risk."
According to Statistics from Breast Cancer Care, around 46,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year - the equivalent of one person every 11 minutes.
Furthermore, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women under 35 - nearly 1,500 women aged 35 to 39 are diagnosed annually.
