A new review by Times Online Travel has revealed industry experts' predictions for the top five family travel trends in 2008.
One prediction is that baby-friendly holidays will be replaced by parent-friendly packages.
Industry analyst Sian Williams asserts that "a new breed of boutique hotels, self-catering cottages and apartments are emerging with cutting-edge style for parents and children alike".
There will also be an increased demand for eco-travel, with many families opting for ethical holidays. Emmanuel Burgio predicts that there will be particular interest in the Latin American green-tourism market.
His predictions follow a recent announcement from aviation giant Airbus that it is committed to providing more eco-efficient flight services.
"Soft adventure" holidays will also be on the agenda, according to Scott Dunn, with families looking to inject a bit of excitement in to their vacation.
A rise in the number of people staying at luxury family-oriented hotels was another top prediction.
