Getting away from it all could seem like a tempting option for Brits at the moment - and with such a wide range of activities taking place in February, next month could be the ideal time to get holiday insurance and jet off.

Telegraph travel writer Nick Trend writes that there is a "party for everyone" in February, with various carnivals and festivals taking place around the globe.

Travellers could find that the Winter Carnival in Quebec offers them a range of activities that could require a comprehensive travel insurance policy, including skating, canoe-racing and dogsled racing.

Skiing in the Alps is also an ideal February getaway, says Mr Trend, as is jetting off to exotic climates and watching England play cricket in Barbados.

Whether people are manic mountain thrill seekers or mild-mannered sliders, the Alps can give tourists what they are looking for.

Insurance from InsureandGo covers 40 activities as standard and can provide adventurous Brits with great cover for their trip.
