Fiji's tourism industry will benefit "a great deal" from publicity generated by the island nation's involvement in the Rugby World Cup, it has been asserted.

The Fiji Island Visitor's Bureau has stated that the national rugby team's involvement in the tournament may well result in an increase in visitor numbers, according to ABC Radio Australia.

Patrick Wong, chairman of the bureau, stated that the Flying Fijians - who were defeated in a quarter final match against South Africa on October 7th - were not only winners, but ambassadors to France.

Earlier this month, it was reported by Radio New Zealand that the French tourism minister Luc Chatel stated that the estimated 350,000 visiting sports fans have provided the tournament's host nation with a boost in tourism.

Those seeking to visit France in order to soak up the World Cup atmosphere - or Fiji to see the home of the celebrated team - may benefit from contacting InsureandGo to obtain a travel insurance quote that can be tailored for specific countries.
