Brits planning a relaxing winter getaway might like to take out
ski insurance and head to Finland, it has been claimed.
Anne Lind, marketing director for VisitFinland, said winter sports are especially popular in Finland at this time of year, with many resorts offering cheap deals on ski hire and time on the slopes at present.
She commented: "This time of year I would recommend visitors go to the winter sports resorts in the northern part of Finland - Lapland, Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu regions."
Ms Lind added other Scandinavian countries are also proving popular with ski enthusiasts so far in 2010.
According to Pierre & Vacances, particularly in the lesser-known ski resorts across the Alps and Pyrenees, sales have increased on average by 17 per cent on previous years in recent months.
The company bookings for the end of March remain strong, with the Easter weekend proving particularly popular this year.
InsureandGo offers
winter sports insurance for Brits looking to hit the piste this year.
