The US remains one of the most popular locations for British newlyweds considering booking a honeymoon, having come fifth in Kuoni's top five honeymoon destinations.
Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for Abta - the Travel Association, said that the country has a lot to offer couples.
Ms Tuke also explained that Florida is a less obvious place for newlyweds to visit but a "fantastic" place for couples to fly to with a vast array of attractions - and
holiday insurance could be an important purchase on such a long trip.
"It's got the warm seas, fantastic white beaches, as well as Disneyland and all the theme parks that perhaps you wouldn't think of as a honeymoon destination," she said.
The expert also claimed that America is the number one long-haul destination for British travellers.
Her comments come after Caxton FX revealed that overseas weddings are growing in popularity, with about one in six people from the UK choosing to tie the knot abroad.
