US car manufacturer Ford has revealed the prices for its new Mondeo vehicle in the UK.

The company claims that the average price of the new range is £300 cheaper on average than the previous series.

The entry level Edge model, which includes a 1.6 litre engine will retail for £14,995, while at the other end, the Titanium X estate 2.5 litre turbo will cost £24,195.

In between the Edge and Titanium trim options come the Zetec and Ghia ranges.

Edge models include seven air bags, cruise control, a leather steering wheel, air-conditioning and CD stereo with MP3 connection, while the Zetec also offers alloy wheels and front fog lights.

Ghia versions add 17-inch inch alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights, while those with money to spare can go for the full Titanium option, which include leather seats and better looking instruments.

The cars will hit UK showrooms in June with the Zetec five-door 140bhpTDCi diesel expected to be among the most popular models at £18,395.
