Ford has been named the UK's most reliable van manufacturer following the results of an annual survey in Fleet News.
More than one million vehicles were assessed as part of the research, which found the Ford Transit to be the most reliable van on the market at present, with the fewest breakdowns per 100 vehicles - good news for those with
van insurance who own such a vehicle.
Steve Kimber, Ford of Britain commercial vehicle director, said: "Ford models have led the commercial vehicle market for 44 years. Their reliability record is of paramount importance, so I'm delighted by this Ford endorsement from top UK fleets."
He added that the company's continuing investment in reliability and research is its secret to success.
Elsewhere, Ford recently sold its 30,000th vehicle under the government's ongoing car scrappage scheme.
Southampton-based Quick Electrical Services purchased the Ford Transit 260 SWB Trend after its old Volkswagen van had broken down.
