Brits looking to take out
ski insurance and hit the piste this year have found French resorts to be their most popular choice, it has been revealed.
Vanessa Fisher, spokesperson for the Ski Club of Great Britain, said price reductions by many resorts have attracted British skiers after the industry was worried the economic downturn could have an impact on visitor numbers in the months ahead.
She commented: "It's really great that people are switching for a holiday that includes activities rather than just maybe taking a beach holiday. It's exiting that people are looking to sport as a holiday."
Ms Fisher added there is likely to be plenty of snow for Easter, meaning the skiing should be good.
According to booking statistics from easyJet, the top ten ski destinations for Brits this season are Chamonix, Avoriaz, Meribel, Les Arcs 1800, Val d'Isere - all in France - Pas de la Casa and Arinsal (Andorra) and Kitzbuhel, Innsbruck, Soll and Arinsal (Austria).
