Children playing computer games have been the subject of widespread talk in the media this week, but it seems that UK parents think gaming is good for their children.
And to make sure that gaming remains a fun pastime and not a financial pest, parents may find a
computer insurance policy ideal to cover against damage to a machine.
The Play Smart, Play Safe survey from software giant Microsoft suggests that more than half of parents think that computer games bring the family closer together.
While acknowledging that some games may not be suitable for children, 73 per cent say they are aware of parental controls on games consoles.
Senior regional director for the UK and Ireland at the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division Neil Thompson mentioned the control parents could have over their children's console use.
These include the Family Tiger which can limit the amount of time kids are allowed to play games.
Computer insurance from
InsureandGo can help parents to be reassured that should a computer get damaged, the cost of repair will be covered.
