As people try and cut back on spending, more and more Brits are choosing to get
travel insurance and take a break closer to home.
"The great British holiday" is making a comeback, reports Wales Online, with those who work in the travel industry in the country reporting rising sales of caravans.
Rob Wilson, sales manager at Discover Leisure in Newport, told the website: "At a time when you might expect sales to be quiet, there has been a massive increase in first-time caravan buyers."
He said that caravans were a cheaper alternative to trips abroad and commented that at the end of a holiday, people still had their caravan for other trips.
Nikki Nichol of the Caravan Club said that people are realising that there is a lot to see and do in the UK, meaning they do not need to travel abroad for a good holiday.
Before setting off on a caravan holiday, people could find it useful to check their
car insurance cover.
InsureandGo car insurance can offer cover for any incidents which may affect a journey to a caravan site, helping people get back on the road and on with their trip.
