Consumers looking for a green and ethical holiday may wish to consider a number of options highlighted by the Times recently.

The newspaper notes that as individuals become increasingly concerned with the environment and political issues in the countries they visit, a new firm has been created to help individuals find the right choice for them.

Ethical Traveller has been launched by American travel agents and tour operators to help consumers find the most ethical destination, the newspaper reports.

Such destinations noted by the organisation include Argentina, which has been noted for its efforts to build a sustainable tourism infrastructure, the newspaper points out.

Other countries highlighted by Ethical Travel include Bulgaria, for its biodiversity strategy and Croatia, again for its efforts to support sustainable eco-tourism.

However, consumers looking to travel to any of these destinations may be wise to remember the benefits that a travel insurance policy can provide should anything go wrong with a trip abroad.

InsureandGo provides a diverse range of travel insurance policies, offering not only single-trip cover, but also year-round protection.
