Travellers organising group holidays are becoming increasingly adventurous when it comes to picking a destination, it has been suggested.
According to Group Leisure magazine, the sector has witnessed a trend found elsewhere in the wider travel market, with tourists showing a taste for exotic and unexplored destinations.
Rob Yandell, managing editor and publisher at the group, explained that people who may have previously organised short group trips in the UK are now setting their sights on areas further afield.
"The world is a smaller place and the options are vast [and]... people are just looking for more adventure and quality at a very reasonable price," he said.
According to recent research carried out by Cater Allen, many Britons are choosing long-haul destinations over European holidays.
More than one in five (22 per cent) said that they looked for places which were off the beaten track when planning their holidays.
