There will be a resurgence of numbers in holidaymakers in the Alps during both the summer and winter months, a property company has predicted.
According to Simon Malster of Investors in Property, holidaymakers are getting 'fed up' with the traditional beach holiday, with increasing numbers looking to the varied activities that a mountain trip can offer.
Popular towns with visitors in the French Alps region include Grenoble, Chamonix and Chambery.
And property company Assetz International also indicated that there had been a 78 per cent increase in demand for French property in the Alps region, as many investors look to benefit from the buy-to-let market.
'With global warming we've had some very hot temperatures in Greece and other parts of Europe this summer and I think that there is definitely a growing market for Alpine holidays generally,' said Mr Malster.
Some lucky tourists were combining both, Mr Malster added, spending a few weeks of summer at the beach with a long weekend or week in the mountains.
