A health tourism exhibition is to be held in London this weekend, it has been reported.

The show, which will take place at the Olympia Two exhibition hall, aims to promote medical treatment and dentistry abroad, according to Denistry.co.uk.

According to the website, the number of trips abroad taken for treatment is expected to top 100,000 next year, with a total value around £375 million.

The Health Tourism Show will see exhibitors showing their dental, cosmetic, IVF and sports treatment products.

Keith Pollard, the founder of website Treatment Abroad, said it was "vital" that people travelling to another country to receive any type of treatment "armed themselves" with as much information as possible before going ahead with their plans.

Those travelling aboard for treatment should ensure they have adequate travel insuranceto try and ensure that things go as smoothly as possible.

According to the Times Online, a recent poll showed that 7.4 million Brits were unable to find an NHS dentist, leading writer Simon Crompton to ask if it was "any wonder" so many people travel abroad for dental care.
