Brits are increasingly taking holidays which see them jetting off to far-flung and exotic destinations, it has been claimed.
When taking a long-haul break, it could be wise to book flights and
travel insurance in advance to get the cheapest prices available.
Spokeswoman from the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Frances Tuke said that travellers are branching out to more adventurous locations.
She said that places such as Egypt, Tunisia and Mexico are "doing particularly well this summer".
Ms Tuke went on to comment that people are booking outside of western Europe, "to a certain extent".
According to a survey from Opodo, Melbourne in Australia has seen the biggest growth in popularity this year, up 400 per cent.
Second on the list of places seeing the most growth was Singapore, followed by Delhi.
Australia featured heavily on the list, with Brisbane and Sydney coming in at fourth and sixth respectively.
