Car manufacturer Honda is recalling over 150,000 cars amid fears a faulty fuel pump could cause the cars' engines to stop and fail to restart.
Although there have yet to be any accidents reported from the problem, the potentially lethal defect has prompted Honda to take 166,000 US vehicles off the road.
The company also said the same faulty component affected 30,000 Chinese cars recalled last week and a filing will be made for similar vehicles in Japan.
Models which are affected by the fuel pump problem are the 2005 Accord, Accord hybrid, Odyssey, Acura TL, Acura RL, Acura TSX models and the 2006 Ridgeline pickup trucks.
Last week Toyota recalled over half a million vehicles after a steering problem resulted in 11 accidents, highlighting the need to have adequate insurance cover when driving.
