Accommodation firm Thistle Hotels intends to spend more than £100 million to rebrand its properties, it has been reported.

The scheme will be introduced to 25 of the facilities by June 2008, according to TravelMole.

New standards of service will be introduced across the brand and staff will undergo an extensive training programme to ensure that service delivery is improved.

The new look will give the brand an "informal contemporary" feel.

Chief operating officer Chris Gillett told the site: "Research has shown that guests don't appreciate 'cookie cutter' style service that is rigid and without personality. Our friendly hotel teams will deliver warm and efficient service."

In related news, Hotel chain Travelodge recently announced that couples called Mary and Joseph are able to claim a free night's accommodation at any of its UK facilities over the festive period.

Wherever consumers plan to stay while on their travels, they may find that InsureandGo is able to provide them with a competitive deal on an extensive yet cheap travel insurance policy.
