A number of hotels across Canada are offering free rooms for consumers travelling to visit members of their family who are in hospital.
The Home for the Holidays scheme will be run by hotelier Delta until January, with specific dates depending on the particular accommodation in question.
More than 25 of the chain's facilities are taking part in the project, which is in its 18th year.
Also, Fairmont's Room at the Inn project, which has been running since 1993, is available at most of its 21 resorts across the country, including the Royal York in Toronto and the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, spokesperson Mike Taylor told the Canadian Press.
