Hotel chain Le Meridien is making a number of moves to improve its image, it has been reported.

Art expert Jerome Sans has been hired to bring together a range of artists, chefs and photographers to create a new identity for the brand's tourist facilities.

Guests' room key cards will be decorated and it is hoped they will become collectables, reports the New York Times.

Eva Ziegler, senior vice-president of the chain, told the publication: "When a person leaves Le Meridien, we aim to give them a feeling that their life has grown."

It was recently reported by the Associated Press that a range of historic hotels across the USA are undergoing extensive renovations and being relaunched to take into account the needs of the modern tourist.

Whether planning to stay in budget, mid-range or luxury accommodation while on holiday, consumers may find that InsureandGo's comprehensive travel insurance deals are able to meet all their protection needs.
