Some 15.5 million (£11 million) worth of online bookings have been made so far in 2007, equating to more than 320,000 bed nights.
The regions of the emerald isle that have proved most popular for bookings thus far this year are Dublin (29 per cent), the south-west (16 per cent) and the west (15 per cent).
Established attractions in Dublin include the National Museum of Ireland: Kildare Street, Trinity College Library and the Irish National Gallery.
