The tourism ministry of Israel is expecting an increased number of people to visit the country next year, it has emerged.
At the World Travel Market exhibition in London, director general of the organisation Shaul Zemach said he predicted more than 200,000 visitors from Britain in 2008, according to the Jerusalem Post.
More two and three-star hotels and other facilities will be provided in anticipation of the tourism boom, he explained.
In order to allow people to make the most of a trip to Israel, he noted that a partnership between the tourism and transport ministries aims to improve sightseeing routes, maps and increase the number of English street signs in the country.
Established attractions in Israel include the Museum of the Jewish Diaspora, Yad Vashem and the Dome of the Rock.
