The capital's airports have been ranked the worst for delays, with only London City airport being outside the top five.
The table was put together by a new website, ukairportdelays.co.uk, which began to track delays at airports at the start of this month.
It was created by independent travel company Travel Counsellors aiming to call 'on all industry bodies to acknowledge the fact that current delays, created by poor processes and insufficient staff numbers, are unacceptable," said David Speakman, the company chairman.
Luton was the worst airport for delays, with a massive 46 minutes average check-in time.
However the website relies on user comments to get its data, and Luton only had had six so far.
Gatwick was second worst but with 36 responses that placed its average check-in time at just under 30 minutes, and getting through security at 32 minutes.
Stansted was third, while Heathrow did relatively well, coming below Manchester at fifth.
But Heathrow's delays for check-in and security checks were still at around half an hour.
Cardiff airport was the best in the UK for delays, with a wait of only five minutes for check-in and 4 minutes for security.
