Long-haul travel destinations are seeing a rise in popularity, with more people getting
holiday insurance and flying off to exotic locations.

Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators, said that long-haul holidays were on "everyone's wish list".
She commented that despite the economic climates, holidays were becoming a necessity.
Ms Kenward pointed out that long-haul destinations were suitable for a wide-range of travellers, such as those in "gap situations" or those in between jobs.
"People think about long hauls because they do make an impact, you are doing something special," she said.
