Brits getting
travel insurance and jetting off to sunnier climates are favouring destinations such as Macau, it has been suggested.
Travellers who are getting
holiday insurance and looking further afield for their breaks are choosing destinations like Macau, which has seen a "double-digit" percentage growth from the UK, according to the Macau Tourist Office.
General manager of the office Sue Whitehead said that the country has a one of a kind culture to tempt holidaymakers.
She said: "Macau has a unique culture as a result of its Chinese and Portuguese heritage, and really offers something for everyone."
Ms Whitehead said that in 2007, there were just under 80,000 British visitors to Macau, but that up to the end of November 2008 there had been a year-on-year growth in visitors of 6.41 per cent.
InsureandGo holiday insurance can offer cover for those jetting off to exotic locations such as Macau, at a low cost price.
