Interest in the Malaysian property market will rise as the global economy settles down, it has been suggested by one property expert.

And those looking to purchase property abroad may find that holiday insurance is a worthwhile investment to ensure any problems on their break are financially covered.

Commenting after the introduction of the UK's first low-cost flight route from the UK to Kuala Lumpur, head of research at Property Frontiers Christopher Chadd said that the demand for second homes by property hunters from the UK had increased in the past due to flights.

He said that when low-cost flights were introduced from the UK to Spain and France, it had a "dramatic effect" on the demand for second homes from the British.

In Mr Chadd's opinion, the area of Johor Bahru has "a lot of potential" for property investors.

Travel insurance from InsureandGo can cover Brits for trips to hunt for a holiday home in Kuala Lumpur, or any other destination.
