The number of hotels across the Middle East is set to increase significantly over the next decade, it has been reported.

In news that may be of interest to those wishing to visit the region, Shaza Hotels has stated it has plans to have some 30 facilities open or in development within ten years.

According to the Khaleej Times, the first hotel will be open in Dubai within the next two years and projects are to be launched in Cairo, Jeddah, Marrakech, Bahrain and Muscat.

The Bahrain Bay development will be a "top-end" five-star development, the publication asserts.

It was recently reported in the Bahrain Tribune that a former chairman of the country's chamber of commerce tourism committee recommended that landmarks such as the financial harbour and world trade centre in the region should be used for tourism purposes.

Before setting off on holiday, even if staying in luxury accommodation, it may be advisable to take out travel insurance, a competitive deal for which can be acquired from InsureandGo.
