After becoming a huge hit in Japan, the Mitsubishi 'i' will be launched in the UK this July, the automobile manufacturer's British arm announced today.
The car already has a cult following here due to its convenient size and shape combined with a high performance for a comparatively small vehicle.
Costing £8,999, the Mitsubishi 'i' features a 660cc intercooled turbocharger engine, 15 inch alloy wheels, climate control, ABS anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution.
One of the most innovative features it that there is no engine at the front, meaning that its driver's view is much wider than average yet the car still manages a top speed of 90mph and achieves 0 to 50mph in 11.2 seconds.
Jim Tyrrell, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors UK, stated: "The 'I' has already become a cult car in Japan and we're confident that its space and sophistication, coupled with Mitsubishi's reputation for quality and reliability, will also make it a hit in the UK."
