Virgin Atlantic has announced that self-service check-in kiosks can significantly reduce the time it takes to register for flights abroad.
A spokesperson from the company asserted that it had seen very impressive feedback from customers using the service.
Press officer Janine Donovan reported that the kiosks can reduce check-in times by around 75 per cent.
"It takes [customers] literally five minutes to check-in at the kiosks including dropping their bags at the bag drop," she added.
She also added that customers had been impressed with additional features such as the ability to view the location of seats on-screen before boarding their flight.
Meanwhile, British Airways has around 220 check-in kiosks at 39 major UK airports and research released by the company suggests that around 675,000 people use the service every month.
Time-saving procedures are also widely adopted by the carrier, with 94 per cent of BA customers buying tickets online.
