More Brits are set to take a domestic break this year, it has been suggested.

Spokesperson for Hoseasons Peter Joyner said that people may be being put off travelling to Europe by the strength of the euro and said people want a "financially manageable" getaway.

Making sure their travel insurance covers them for both domestic and overseas breaks could be a wise way for people to ensure they are not hit by unmanageable finances in the future.

Mr Joyner said that people would be more likely to stay in the UK for a holiday because of their own financial concerns.

A survey from hotels website trivago suggests that 75 per cent of Brits will reduce the amount of money they spend on a holiday this year.

While there are a number of ways in which this can be achieved, people should not scrimp on essential travel insurance for their trip away.

InsureandGo offer cheap travel insurance which can cover a break within the UK or further afield.
