People in the UK who may not have previously considered renting a home are now seeing it as an option, it has been claimed.
And while renting a home may not be a permanent arrangement, people should still ensure their
home insurance covers their possessions against any damage which might occur.
Figures from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) suggest that the rental market is performing well compared to the sales market.
President of the NAEA Chris Brown said: "People who traditionally would never rent a house are saying: 'Yeah, let's have a look, let's rent a house'".
Regardless of the amount of time that people plan to stay in a rented house, they should not rely on the landlord to provide adequate home insurance cover to protect against the financial cost of a break-in or other incident.
Home insurance from
InsureandGo could be a wise investment for people looking to buy or rent a property.
