A new consultation to improve safety for motorbike users in the UK has been launched by the Department for Transport in conjunction with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
Britons taking out
motorcycle insurance and aiming to pass their test will see the examination split from two to three parts, with a greater focus on improving skills for riders of larger bikes.
"I urge anyone with an interest in road safety to respond to the consultation and give us their views on how these new measures should be introduced," commented Rosemary Thew, chief executive of the DSA.
Elsewhere, Philip Gomm, spokesperson for the RAC Foundation, recently noted that plans to introduce black box recorders into UK vehicles would do little to improve accident rates in the long run.
He argued that once people got used to having the devices in their cars, they would revert to their old, bad driving habits.

car insurance for UK road users.
