The design for the new UK passport has been unveiled, The Daily Mail has reported.
Pages in the new-look book will show scenic images of country life and national landmarks, including the White Cliffs of Dover and the Giant’s Causeway.
Identity and Passport Service chief executive, Sarah Rapson, commented, “What we’re not trying to do is represent every single aspect of Britain today.
"We've deliberately chosen scenic Britain, the images you're seeing are representative of that aspect of Britain."
Following other European countries, the picture and personal details of the holder will appear towards the front of the book, and an electronic chip carrying biometric data will also be buried in the lining.
The new design will be launched next month costing £77.50, the same price as the current document.
Travel insurance cover for personal belongings and baggage, including passports, is available from InsureandGo.
