A tourist complex in Nigeria is to be developed to make it "an ideal tourist centre".

The War Museum in Umuahia will see enhancements made to it to improve its educational qualities, air marshal Paul Dike explained.

"This is a place of history that must be preserved ... I still think that there is a lot more to be done here to make it much better," he told the Vanguard.

Deputy state governor Chris Akomas added that the museum was a valuable resource that illustrated why people should not engage in conflict.

Earlier this month, it was reported by allafrica.com that the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation stated that attractions such as festivals are to be developed in the country.

Consumers wishing to visit particular attractions and regions may find that they benefit from contacting InsureandGo, either online or over the phone, to obtain a quote on comprehensive travel insurance.
