A woman who dumped her fiancee's van into the harbour has been spared a jail sentence and will only have to pay damages to her ex-lover.
Emma Thomason threw her fiancee's work van into harbour waters alongside all of his clothes as a result of what the accused described as ongoing relationship tension.
The van had to be rescued from the harbour by the police.
She said Jason Wilson, with whom she had been in a relationship for seven years, refused to come home and take care of the children, and described him as wanting all the benefits of a married relationship with all the freedoms of being single.
Mr Wilson's not wanting to come home to help with the children was the last straw in an ongoing series of similar spates.
Emma Thomason will have to pay £500 compensation to Mr Wilson, do 100 hours of community service and be disqualified from driving for a full year.
A jail sentence she was given of 90 days has been suspended for one year.
