Norwegian, the largest low-fares airline in Scandinavia, has announced it will open a new route between London's Gatwick airport and the city of Stavanger.
The service is set to begin in November 2nd and provide four flights per week between both airports.
Stavanger is a city on the south-east portion of Norway, with the budget airline already providing services to five other destinations in the country.
'Stavanger has a lot to offer the visitors, including a beautiful old harbour with restaurants and cafes and many inner-city lakes which are popular recreational areas,' said Daniel Skjeldam, director of network and revenue for the carrier.
Mr Skjeldam also pointed out that the city was 'only a short boat trip away' from the country's famous fjords and coastal scenery.
The destination could also attract business travellers due to Norway's important oil industry, which includes major companies such as Statoil.
Stavanger, which is close to the North Sea, is often considered Norway's oil capital, Mr Skjeldam added.
