Computer owners in the capital are being encouraged to donate their old IT equipment in order to raise money for a children's charity.

Charity NCH helps some of the most vulnerable youngsters in society and is being helped by Maxitech.biz and Hewlett-Packard (HP) in this fundraising initiative.

Londoners are being urged to donate their old computers, IT equipment and mobile phones to mark this year's international Earth Day.

The equipment will then be refurbished, with some given to the charity and some recycled.

Maxitech.biz managing director Peter Paduh said: "There are hundreds of thousands of old computers in London homes doing nothing, but just as many people in our local community and across the UK who cannot afford to buy this kind of equipment at full price.

"We'd like as many people as possible to bring their unwanted IT down to Maxitech so that it can be put to good use."
