Motorists with access to the internet should try and purchase their car insurance online, according to Norwich Union.

The provider advises consumers to purchase their vehicle cover using their computer as this can help reduce their costs.

Erik Nelsen, a spokesperson for the car insurance provider, states that if a policy is bought online, then the majority of firms will give a discount.

This could be a significant saving, too, as he notes that most providers will deduct at least ten per cent of the overall cost of such insurance for those who purchase their cover via the internet.

Norwich Union also recently stated that if drivers cover less than 6,000 miles in a year they could save up to 30 per cent on their car cover.

Consumers shopping around for car insurance may well find that they can make savings by contacting InsureandGo to get a quote on a policy.
