Those looking to supplement their pension could find that buying an overseas property is an ideal way to do so, one sector commentator has claimed.

And as well as making people some extra cash, a home abroad could be the ideal place to visit for those who want to get holiday insurance and jet off regularly.

Property editor of BuyAssociation.co.uk Paul Collins said that when done "carefully with the right advice and a lot of consideration", foreign investment could be a very good way of raising extra retirement money.

Holidaymakers over the age of 60 may find that a specific travel insurance to suit their needs is a wise buy before getting a home abroad.

Mr Collins noted that there could still be bargains for people within the eurozone.

However, he went on to say that destinations such as Turkey and Morocco could be worth considering.

Over 65s Insurance from InsureandGo can offer mature travellers the right cover for a trip to Europe or further afield.
