Consumers looking to reduce the amount they pay for their car insurance were recently advised by Norwich Union that two heads are better than one.

Erik Nelsen, a spokesperson for the provider, explains that those seeking to reduce their car insurance payments, who also have a partner or are married, should put their significant other on their policy.

He states that while this may sound counterintuitive, it may be an effective means to reduce the money that has to be spent.

Mr Nelsen explains that in the majority of cases, providing the partner or spouse has a clean driving licence, it may reduce the car insurance costs.

Norwich Union states that it is the largest insurance company in the UK.

Road users shopping around for car insurance may well find that they benefit from contacting InsureandGo either online or over the phone to get a competitive quote on a policy.
