A festival is to be held in the Philippines to promote the country's range of tourist attractions, it has been reported.

The event will market the region's entertainment, shopping, cultural and adventurous activities such as water sports, the Manila Times explains.

George Lorenzana, Greater Subic Bay Tourism Bureau chairman, told the publication: "Everyone is invited to join the Subik! Subik! Festival as it is bound to thrill everyone with its diverse activities."

Events to be run at festival will include swimming events, a fun run, diving and martial arts performances.

Agence France-Presse recently reported on tourists being attracted to the Philippines' Mount Pinatubo volcano crater to take part in water sports such as swimming and kayaking.

Tourists wishing to participate in outdoor pursuits such as those mentioned above may find InsureandGo's travel insurance to be of value as it automatically covers over 40 activities, such as white-water rafting and bungee jumping.
