The UK travel sector is showing positive signs for 2010, with more people planning trips abroad than did so last year, it has been revealed.
Lucy Huxley, editor of Travel Weekly, said non-eurozone destinations such as Egypt and Turkey are likely to prove popular this year, as they benefit from being cheaper for holidaymakers, as well as providing excellent weather and an array of attractions.
She commented: "Customers who may have skipped their annual holiday last year to save money appear to be keen to make sure their main break is ring-fenced in 2010."
According to research carried out by First Rate Exchange Services, more than half (58 per cent) of UK adults intend to take a holiday this year.
It showed Londoners are the most likely to travel in 2010, with 68 per cent claiming they will get away to a foreign destination before the year is out.
