Advice on
commercial insurance could be obtained at the post office in the years to come.
Proposals have been put forward to turn post offices into "small business hubs", offering advice on issues ranging from commercial insurance to banking, as well as sending and receiving packages.
John Wright, national chair of the Federation of Small Businesses, says: "Small firms are not being given a fully operational service and are severely let down by the lack of business services available."
He adds that providing business desks in post offices could overcome this, while helping to sustain local communities more effectively.
Post Office previously published its own warnings about the impact of the warmer summer months on
home insurance policies.
Homeowners were warned that they could find possessions left in their car were not protected by home insurance policies.
This could leave them facing the cost of replacing items if they were to be stolen.
