A survey from Which? has found that price comparison sites could leave customers feeling more confused than they were before using them, it has been claimed.

Which? visited a number of different price comparison websites and looked up home contents cover, car insuranceand travel insuranceto see how the prices measured up to other sites and also to test how useful the sites were at finding policies which were suitable for the customer.

The survey suggests that a true comparison between prices is difficult as each website asked a range of different questions and a lot of the products policies offered dissimilar insurance features, reports the International Travel Insurance Journal.

Furthermore, Which? found that it was sometimes necessary to go to the website of the insurer itself to check out certain details such as the amount of excess payable with a claim.

Also, some of the quoted insurance polices offered the best value for money but on closer inspection did not offer amount of cover recommended by the consumer watchdog.

Virgin Media recently said it was concerned over the reliability of broadband speed checks carried out by comparison websites.

Insureandgo offer a wide range of different insurance.
