Plans to increase Cambodia's tourism credentials are in the works, it has emerged.
Officials are predicting that by the end of the year two million tourists will have visited the country and one of their goals is to increase the length of stay by travellers - which currently stands at 6.5 days, according to TravelMole.
However, a number of new attractions and facilities are in development to tempt more people to visit, including Angkor National Museum which opened yesterday (November 12th) and the Angkor Golf Resort, designed by Nick Faldo, which will welcome its first visitors later this month.
Gordon Bell, a representative for Cambodia's ministry of tourism, told the website that he is planning to meet the country's new tourism minister Thong Khon and plans to discuss further development of the sector in the region.
